pass on what you learn
So Its been my kelly week this week.
I have to share that I would much rather be outside working in my yard than sitting on the computer.
Just to write this email, I had to force myself to sit down and just do it.
There something about being outdoors doing physical things that makes everyone in my household happy.
So lets make this quick.
Lesson of the Day:
Sharing our experiences and lessons learned helps the next generation.
Not everyone experiences the same thing.
Not everyone has the same training.
Not everyone has had a leader look out for them.
Every department has its problems and knuckleheads.
Nothing is perfect.
but .....
We can make it better.
Share what you know with those around you.
Put on drills.
Coach poor performance.
Make a positive impact.

My probie has mentioned that he wants to regularly dry stretch. What!?! I think we just became best friends. I explained to him that thats my go to daily drill of choice. Now only does it give the firefighter practice but also the engineer. The engineer has to spot the apparatus and we usually discuss tactics after the stretch. We go over different options and discuss possible variables. The point is to get out and do it. Familiarize yourself with your first due and keep your crew engaged....
