15 runs after 10pm

Published almost 3 years ago • 1 min read

Most of you know that I've had the opportunity to ride up as a Battalion Chief for most of this year so far.

The past couple weeks though, I've been back on the Engine.

I've missed it except for those calls at night. I like being busy but I like my sleep also.

The call gods brought their wrath last night though. 15 runs after 10pm for both our units combined.

It just became comical at one point. I'm not gonna lie though, I was grumpy for a couple of those calls....

That was my fault though. It was my perspective of the situation. At the end of the day, I was on the clock and getting sleep is a bonus not a guarantee.

Anyways, I'm sipping on some crown apple and wanted to share that I'll be heading to Echelon Front's Muster this week. I'm excited to be able to meet Jocko in person and see what I can take away from the event.

I'll be recording a podcast on my big takeaways afterwards.

We go over different options and discuss possible variables. The point is to get out and do it. Familiarize yourself with your first due and keep your crew engaged....

Boy what a week it has been. It was a busy kelly week. And I learned some valuable lessons. I have decided to take on real estate as a side job. So I'm learning something new which makes me uncomfortable. It tends to also stress me out because there is not enough time in the day to learn everything. I've been reminded on the importance of being patient. A person can only do so much. I've learned that having this new goal has made me excited on overcoming these new obstacles. I've been...
